This year is the 100th anniversary of the Mother’s Day proclamation by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914, celebrated on the second Sunday of May.  Is it really about Mom or is it really about the kids? In my opinion being a mom is a gift from God, it is a lifetime commitment, it is your heart walking around outside of your body, it can be full of joy and sadness, it is something I will also treasure.  However, what is the expectation of Mother’s Day?  Is it really about what mom wants to do or is it about what everyone else wants you to do?  It’s really about what everyone else wants to do, mom’s really just want to either do her normal routine or she wants a day to herself.  It is VERY nice to have your kids tell you they love you!  Flowers or chocolates are always appreciated but to be honest I don’t want to make additional decisions on what to do to entertain everyone.

Tell me what you think Mother’s Day is really about?  And Mom’s out there….What do you want to do on Mother’s Day???
